Most vehicles used for transporting goods by rail or road are powered by combustion engines. These engines convert only about one third of the fuel's energy into thrust. The remaining energy is transferred as heat to the coolant or discharged as exhaust gas to the environment.

In collaboration with a partner from the railway vehicle sector, O-Flexx is developing a solution that employs thermoelectric modules to convert the residual energy of the exhaust gas into electrical energy, thus ensuring compliance with future environmental standards and improving cost efficiency.
