Solar Thermal

Modern solar systems often come as combined systems that provide both hot water and space heating. In summer, however, when the system is not required for heating, combined systems suffer from the phenomenon of stagnation (i.e. the collector fluid evaporates).

O-Flexx is developing a component that discharges the surplus thermal energy from the system to the ambient air and in the process generates electrical energy with the aid of thermoelectric generators. Stagnation problems can be completely avoided with hybrid systems such as these.

O-Flexx has been granted support for this technology by the German Ministry of Economics and Technology.
