Aside from classical thermocouples used for temperature measurement, another segment offers great potential: wireless sensors. These sensors do not only perform their measuring task but also generate the power they require for this task by exploiting the thermoelectric effect. They are thus energy autonomous and can be operated in difficult-to-access locations with almost no maintenance. This segment's potential is almost limitless.
