Markus Moor
(Chairman of the Board, Emerald Technology Ventures)
Based in our Zurich office, Markus Moor is a partner with Emerald Technology Ventures and responsible for investments in the field of emerging energy technologies with a particular focus on solar, distributed generation, portable power and advanced lighting technologies. He currently serves on the boards of Xunlight Corp., Enocean GmbH and O-Flexx Technologies GmbH. Since joining the Zurich team in 2001, he also spent three years in Emerald's North American office in Montreal. Prior to this position, Markus worked for two years as a public equity analyst in SAM's Asset Management and Research departments, with a strong focus on the energy sector, and later as Investment Director for SAM Private Equity. Prior to joining SAM, he gained six years of operational and engineering experience working with Miteco, a Swiss-based engineering start-up specialising in the development of continuous production processes and related equipment and machinery. His tenure with Miteco included R&D positions as well as project management positions, where he gained broad experience in designing and setting up new manufacturing processes in Europe and Asia.
Markus holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering (with honors) from the University of Applied Sciences Solothurn in Switzerland and an MS in Economics and Technology Management (again with honors) from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Rene Savelsberg
(SET Venture Partners)
Rene is Managing Director and CEO of SET Venture Partners, powered by Chrysalix and Robeco, B.V., responsible for managing the EUR 50 million Sustainable Energy Technology ("SET") Fund based in Amsterdam.
Previously, Rene held several executive positions with Philips Electronics NV, among them the responsibility for its corporate venturing program (1997-2005) and for semiconductor related M&A activities (2005-2007). During this period, Rene was involved in the investment in and divestment of approximately 40 high-tech companies located in Israel, the USA and Europe.
Rene holds an engineering degree in Technology Management from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, and lived and worked in Silicon Valley, USA, for ten years.
